OAAAQA Issues the IQA Report for Global College of Engineering and Technology

11 Oct 2023

Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA) has now completed an Institutional Quality Audit (IQA) of the Global College of Engineering and Technology (GCET). The report is now made available on the OAAAQA website.

GCET submitted the IQA Portfolio on 25 May 2022 and a Panel was formed to undertake the IQA process. The Panel comprised experienced locally-based and international reviewers. The Visit took place between 23-27 October 2022 (with the exception of ‘Day Zero’, a day of Panel discussions before the interviews at the College commenced) at GCET’s premises. During the Visit the Panel spoke with over 110 people, including representatives of the governing authorities, staff, students and external stakeholders. The Panel also visited a selection of venues and reviewed a range of additional evidence and supporting materials.

On 12 September 2023, the OAAAQA Board approved GCET IQA Report, a copy of which has been received by GCET. The Report contains a summary of the Panel’s findings, together with formal Commendations where good practices have been confirmed, Affirmations where GCET`s ongoing quality improvement efforts merit support, and Recommendations where there are significant opportunities for improvement not yet being adequately addressed. The Report aims to provide a balanced set of observations, but does not comment on every system in place at the College.
