Prof Barry Winn
 
Professor Barry Winn was took up the post of Vice Chancellor at Sohar University on the 1st April 2015 and was previously Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at the University of Bradford, UK. He was Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Enterprise at the University of Hull between 2003 and 2008. He served on a number of community and business related groups such as the Wilberforce 2007 Committee, World Trade Centre steering committee, the Humber Economic Partnership Strategy Group and was a board member and non-executive director of the Institute of Knowledge Transfer. He worked at the University of Bradford between 1994 and 2003 as Professor of Optometry, Head of Department and as the inaugural Dean of Life Sciences. He has served on a number of national committees such as EPSRC KT panel and has Chaired the Quality Assurance Agency benchmarking group on Subjects Allied to Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and a former educational advisor to the General Optical Council.
 
Prof. Belaid Aouni
 

Professor Belaïd Aouni is the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at the College of Business and Economics, Qatar University. He was Professor and Director of the School of Commerce and Administration, Faculty of Management, Laurentian University (Canada). He was also the Vice-Dean for Research at Faculty of Management and Acting Dean for Faculty of Graduate Studies at Laurentian University. He is the recipient of Laurentian University 2010 Research Excellence Award and the 2012 Teaching Excellence Award; he is also the recipient of 2005 Canadian Operational Research Society Service Award. Dr. Aouni has served as President of the Canadian Operational Research Society. He holds a B.Sc. in Production and Operations Management from Tlemcen University (Algeria), Master and Ph.D. degrees in Management Science from Laval University (Quebec, Canada). Dr. Aouni’s teaching and research interests are related to the areas of multiple objective programming and goal programming, multiple criteria decision aid, mathematical programming, production and operations management. His publications have appeared in top-tier journals within the field of Operational Research. He serves/has served as a reviewer and guest editor for many of journals in the field of Management Sciences. Dr. Aouni has an extensive professional experience with Quebec Government, Canada.

 
Dr Jonathan Loose
 
Jonathan Loose is Senior Lecturer in Philosophy and Psychology and Director of Learning, Teaching and Assessment at Heythrop College, University of London, UK.  Prior to joining Heythrop’s staff, Jonathan earned a BSc in Cognitive Science with first class honours from the University of Exeter UK, subsequently studying at the University of Oxford before returning to Exeter to take up a tutorship then lectureship while successfully completing his PhD.Jonathan’s enthusiastic teaching in psychology and philosophy at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, coupled with innovation in the use of learning technology won him the Heythrop College Principal’s Teaching Prize, while his wider contribution to learning and teaching (begun at Exeter through contributions to UK Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) subject review) continued at Heythrop College as he was appointed Director of Learning, Teaching and Assessment.  In this role he first developed a strategy for assessment, learning and teaching that governed a process of transformation of these areas, thus producing not only a highly successful QAA institutional audit outcome but also sustained student satisfaction scores above sector averages and benchmarks.  A comprehensive revision of institution-wide curricula followed, and a suite of programmes was developed that possessed significant appeal, intellectual coherence and practical application.  This work has led Jonathan to be invited to take part in reviewing activities both nationally and internationally, most recently working with the EKKA in Estonia. 
 
Dr Khalaf Marhoun Al Abri
 
Dr. Khalaf is an assistant professor in education systems leadership and policies in the Department of Educational Foundations and Administration, College of Education, Sultan Qaboos University. He obtained a BA in Education majoring in English Language from Sultan Qaboos University in 2006, a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Queensland in Australia in 2010, and a PhD in Education Systems and Policies from the University of Queensland also in 2016. vDr. Khalaf is currently the Director of the Main Library at Sultan Qaboos University, and prior to that (2016-2020) was the Head of the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Unit at the College of Education. Dr. Al’Abri is an external reviewer in the register of the Omani Academic Accreditation Authority. Dr. Khalaf is interested in studying the impact of globalization on education systems and policies. His current research focuses on education for global citizenship, education and SDGs, and internationalization of education. Dr. Khalaf received the Global Citizen Award from the Asia-Pacific Center of Education for International Understanding, affiliated to UNESCO in 2019, and he also received the Distinguished Academic Supervisor Award from Sultan Qaboos University in 2020. Al-Abri participated in many local, regional and international conferences, and he published various papers and book chapters.
 
Dr. P. Mani Joseph
 
Joseph Mani is Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS), Oman. Prior to joining MCBS in 2004, he had served as the Dean of Faculty of Computer Science & Engineering at Sharjah College, UAE. Joseph received his Ph.D degree from Cochin University of Science and Technology, India in the field of Information communication Technology. He is an ABET IDEAL(Institute for the Development of Excellence in Assessment Leadership) scholar and an approved ABET Evaluator for IT programs (Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC). He is also a Certified EFQM Internal Assessor -Institute for Total Quality Management (ITQM). Joseph is an active member of various professional societies including IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Association), ISACA (Information System Audit and Control Association, New York),ACM ( Association for computing Machinery and Oman Quality Network in Higher Education (OQNHE). He was also involved in organizing various International Conferences (Academic Committee Chair of OQNHE 3rd conference 2015, Organizing Committee Member of IEEE GCC Conference 2015, Academic Committee Chair of OQNHE 4th conference 2017 and Conference Chair of ISACA regional Conference 2017). He is actively involved in the development of International undergraduate and associate degree Information Technology (IT) curriculum as a member of both ACM International IT Curriculum Committee and ACM International IT Education Committee during 2005-09.
 
Dr. Serge Herzog
 
Born and raised in Switzerland, Dr. Herzog completed his graduate education in government studies (MA, Georgetown University, Washington, DC) and technology management (PhD, University of Denver,USA). He joined the Emirates Center of Strategic Studies & Research in Abu Dhabi, UAE, as a research associate before moving on to become a consultant for international trade with Texas-based Ost Europa Investment Strategies, Inc. Since 2001, he has served as Director of Institutional Analysis at the University of Nevada, Reno, USA, with a concurrent appointment as statistical consultant for the university’s Center for Research Design & Analysis (CRDA).  Since 2016, he has served as Research Fellow for the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). He has participated in numerous higher education institutional accreditations and teaches regular higher education workshops and webinars on predictive analytics and data management and reporting in affiliation with Percontor LLC. He is the author of Defense Reform and Technology (Praeger), and chapter contributor to Change and Development in the Gulf (ed. Abbas Abdelkarim; Macmillan). His publications have been covered in the Chronicle of Higher Education, University Business Magazine, Campus Technology Magazine, Research in Higher Education, European Journal of Engineering Education, and New Directions for Institutional Research (NDIR). Most recently, he is co-editor of Methodological Advances and Issues in Studying College Impact. New Directions for Institutional Research(Jossey-Bass), and Validity and Limitations of College Student Self-Report Survey Data, New Directions for Institutional Research (Jossey-Bass). In 2019, he developed the first value-added university ranking system, the College ROI.
