Dr Ahmed Al Abri
 
Dr.Ahmed Al-Abri is currently Dean of the Institute of Health Sciences (IHS), Ministry of Health (MoH) Oman. He graduated with a Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography from IHS in 1992 and obtained a BSc and MSc in Medical Imaging from the University of Bradford, UK in 1999 and 2001 respectively.  He completed a Masters in Medical Education from Dundee University, UK in 2004.  He received his Doctorate of Education from the University of Sheffield, UK in 2015. He worked for 2 years after graduation (1992-1994) as a basic grade radiographer and then as in-charge radiographer for 2 years (1994-1996). Following this he joined the IHS as clinical tutor trainee for a short period before continuing his studies.  Following the graduation of MSc in Medical Imaging he worked for two years as assistant Sciences tutor. He has taught Radiographic Sciences, Clinical Education and he has been heavily involved in curriculum evaluation and development, educational needs assessments, developing continuing education for radiography profession. Dr.Ahmed currently also serves as Board Member of the Recruiting Committee for Radiographers at Ministry of Health, MoH Continuing Education Committee for Radiographers and founder of Oman Association for Radiographers. Dr. Al-Abri has presented in a number of national conferences, seminars and workshops and has conducted several educational and professional workshops and seminars for IHS faculty and radiographers in Oman. His research interests are in curriculum development, professional development of radiographers and risk management in Radiology department.
 
Dr. Alma Gamido Enriquez
 

Dr. Alma G. Enriquez is an Associate Deputy Rector for AcademicAffairs of the German University of Technology inOman.  She holds a Doctorate in Educational Management and a Masters andBachelors in Business Administration and Management.   She has aprofessional licensure in teaching Business Technology with a solid foundationand experience in managing higher education institutions over the past 2decades. Moreover, she was appointed to various roles from being a Lecturer,Educational Consultant, Business Development Manager and Director.  Herwealth of experience propelled her to share invaluable contributions in thearea of strategic management as college Dean in 2 previous institutions sheserved. Having been a part of service-oriented companies, her exposure in thoseindustries further strengthened her expertise in the field of excellent servicedelivery and quality assurance. Her journey in Oman began in 2006, pioneeredthe establishment of the quality assurance office of Al Musanna College ofTechnology and then moved to the German University of Technology in Oman in2011. Apart from being the project manager in various accreditation programmes,her major contributions stem from planning, policy management to qualityenhancement.   She chaired a number of active steering committees andis a proactive member of the Middle East and North Africa Association forInstitutional Research (MENA-AIR).  Furthermore, she has participated andpresented papers in conferences and workshops locally andinternationally.  Her research interest is focused on the area of qualityassurance, human resources management, organizational change and educationalmanagement.


 
Prof. Gerhard Apfelthaler
 
Gerhard Apfelthaler is Dean and Professor at the School of Management at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California. He received his Ph. D. in Social and Economic Sciences from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration (WU) in Vienna, Austria after studies in Austria, Taiwan, and the United States. He authored several books in English and German, and he published articles in leading academic journals including Industrial Marketing Management, the Service Industries Journal, the Journal of World Business, the European Journal of International Management, the Journal of Small Business Management, the International Journal of Management Education, the Journal of International Learning, and several others. He is also a co-founder and editor of the European Journal of International Management. He has lectured at universities in a number of countries including Austria, Australia, Austria, Colombia, Iceland, Oman, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand, and the United States, and is the co-founder of several companies including Oak Therapeutics, Inc., (USA), CURE Pharmaceutical (USA), AT Consult (USA and Austria), and the non-profit organization Start-Up Kids. Before moving to California, he has been the Chair of the Department of International Management at FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences in Graz (Austria). Previously, he served as Commercial Attaché to the Austrian Embassy in Singapore, as Austria’s Deputy Trade Commissioner to the United States (Los Angeles office), as Dean of International Business Studies at FHS Kufstein Tirol, and as coordinator of the international postgraduate program of the Community of European Management Schools (CEMS), among others. 
 
Dr Philip Westbury Cardew
 
Phil Cardew’s academic career began as a lecturer in medieval English and Icelandic literature, working at the universities of Leeds, Hull and Southampton before becoming Programme Director for the undergraduate programme at the University of Winchester. During this time, he also became extensively involved in quality assurance, both at faculty and institutional level and in work as an institutional auditor for the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA).Phil left Winchester to become Assistant Director in the Reviews Group of the QAA, returning to an institutional role in 2005. In 2006 he was appointed Pro Vice Chancellor at London South Bank University and moved from there to become Deputy Vice Chancellor at Leeds Beckett University in 2015, where his role encompasses leadership of quality and standards, as well as all student-facing services. He continues to undertake audit work for the QAA, the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (Australia) and the Hong Kong Council for the Validation and Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, as well as acting in an advisory capacity for other universities and external agencies, both within the UK and internationally. 
 
Prof. Rhys Rowland-Jones
 
Professor Rhys Rowland-Jones is a Professor of Management and Director of Academic Affairs at the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government in Dubai, with responsibility for the licensure, development, accreditation and renewal of the academic portfolio of the school. Prior to joining MBRSG in January 2015 he was employed as a Commissioner for the CAA at the UAE Ministry of Higher Education, where he chaired and led international teams for licensure and program accreditation at over 80 Universities. Rhys has over 20 years’ experience of higher education quality assurance, accreditation and validation, in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He was a member of the senior management team who successfully formed Glyndwr University. He is the former Chief Examiner of the UK based Chartered Quality Institute, and Head of the School of Operations at Bristol Business School. He has published results of his research in international journals, and has presented in international conferences winning best paper awards. Rhys is an international assessor for the QAA and for the Hong Kong Validation Authority. Rhys is a European Assessor for EFQM Business Excellence Models, and has worked internationally on developing knowledge transfer facilities.
