Ms. Annie Lajinian Magarian
 
Annie holds the position of University Registrar at the Lebanese American University (LAU), Lebanon.  She leads and oversees the academic services of two campuses with over 8500 students and serves on the university Accreditation Committee. Previous positions include : Lecturer and Director of the Foundation Programme at Dhofar University, Oman, Principal of the AGBU-Melkonian Educational Institute, Cyprus, Lecturer and teacher trainer at LAU, and consultant for the education/management sector. She holds BA in Business Administration/Political Science from Haigazian University, TEFL Diploma from LAU, and MA in Education from American University of Beirut.  Pursued Doctorate degree courses in Educational Leadership at University of Leicester, UK.  Also has several professional qualifications in education and leadership. Her career spans over 30 years, holding senior leadership positions in educational institutions in the last 2 decades.  She is a Lecturer of English, Communication and Education; has participated in training seminars, workshops and conferences in Education, English Language, Communication, Management & Leadership, and Quality Assurance & Management in several countries. Has served as consultant in government agencies and NGOs. Since 2007 she has been engaged in the enhancement of Quality Assurance in the higher education sector:  Served in the Oman Higher Education Sector serving as Chairperson and member of the Oman Quality Network in Higher Education (OQNHE) and as an External Reviewer for the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority.She is a member of several professional and non-profit organisations and the recipient of a prestigious medal for her valued contributions in the field of education and community services.

Dr Jasen Burgess
 
Dr Jasen Burgess is currently Director, Educational Quality and Integrity at CQUniversity Australia, with leadership and team management responsibilities for quality assurance, accreditation processes, regulatory policy and compliance, academic integrity, learning analytics and surveys, and oversight of centralised work integrated learning. Dr Burgess has broad, high level experience in quality assurance, regulation and strategic management in tertiary education institutions and in regulatory and external quality assurance bodies operating in the tertiary education sector. This includes roles as Audit Director for the former Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA) and as a founding Director, Regulation and Review at the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA). Dr Burgess successfully project managed the CQUniversity’s joint re-registration with Tertiary Education Quality and Standards (TEQSA) and the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) as both a higher education and vocational education and training (VET) provider, building on his experience as Think Education’s Project Director for the first joint TEQSA-ASQA re-registration in 2014/15. As Director of Accreditation, Australian Dental Council (ADC), the professional accreditation body for dental programs in Australia, Dr Burgess led a significant change management program that professionalised the ADC’s accreditation function. Dr Burgess has a PhD in French history from the University of New South Wales, a Bachelor of Arts First Class Honours degree from the University of Sydney, a Master of Business Administration from Deakin University, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Dr Burgess has published in French history and contributed to publications on higher education quality assurance and regulation.
 
Air Commodore Engineer Muhammad Ismail
 

Presently, Muhammad Ismail is working as Director Quality Assurance at National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS), Rawalpindi since May, 2019. He is dealing with the implementation of the policies/guidelines issued by Higher Education Commission(HEC) of Pakistan, the Pakistan Medical Commission and Pakistan Nursing Council at NUMS. Prior to this, he had been appointed as Head of the Quality Assurance Division of HEC Pakistan as Consultant/Expert Quality Assurance during October2015 to January, 2019. Quality Assurance Division of HEC works for developing and reviewing the quality assurance policies for the Pakistani higher education sector through the recommendations of National Quality Assurance Committee(NQAC) and issuing them after the approval of the Commission. Muhammad Ismail got his Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Pakistan Air Force(PAF) College of Aeronautical Engineering (CAE) winning NED Gold Medal and Arif-Manzoor Shaheed Gold Medal. He received his Master’s degree in Physics, with roll of honor, from Government College Lahore, Pakistan and MS in Aerospace Engineering, with distinction, from University of Oklahoma, USA. He served in PAF during 1975 to 2005, against different instructional, administrative and staff assignments including faculty member at PAF College of Aeronautical Engineering, Principal of a PAF College, Director of Studies at PAF Academy, Director of Education and Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Education)at Air Headquarters. He was also deputed to King Faisal Air Academy, Riyadh Saudi Arabia during Aug, 1984 to Nov, 1987. Besides several other honors and awards, he is recipient of President’s Award of Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military)(i.e. Star of Excellence-Military).During May 2005 to October 2015, Muhammad Ismail served National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) Islamabad, as Director Quality Assurance and International Collaborations. At NUST, he dealt with matters concerning implementation of policies and programs for quality assurance/enhancement as per the guidelines of HEC and the and international collaborations of NUST. He also facilitated the accreditation of NUST academic programs by PEC, NBEAC, PCATP, NCEAC and PM&DC. He has conducted several seminars and workshops on quality assurance, as resource person, at national level and has been declared as HEC’s Master Trainer. He is on the panel of accreditation experts of Pakistan Engineering Council and Member of National Panel of HEC Pakistan for Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE) of Universities and Review of Graduate Programs (RGP). He has conducted several accreditations of engineering programs, university internal quality audits and IPEs as well as RGPs of many Pakistani universities. He has participated and contributed in numerous national and international conferences and has various publications to his credit including contributions in ACU, APQN and QS organized events. Based on his engagement in multifarious activities in the field of quality assurance Muhammad Ismail has been selected as Consultant for Asia Pacific Quality Network (APQN). While being the Director Quality Assurance NUST, he was instrumental in winning the APQN’s Best/Model IQA Award– 2014 for NUST and also won the APQN Quality Champion Award – 2016 for himself while being at HEC Pakistan. 


 
Dr Saleh Al Khusaiby
 
Dr Saleh Mohammed Al Khusaiby graduated in 1974 from University of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and joined the Ministry of Health in Oman in 1976.  Dr Saleh was awarded the Diploma of Tropical Child Health from the University of Liverpool in 1980 and was awarded a higher degree MRCP (UK) in 1982.  He sub-specialized in Pediatric Neonatology at the University Hospital in London where he undertook research on Perinatal Mortality and Morbidity and was awarded PhD in 1992 from the University of London.   In 1989 Dr Saleh was appointed as a Consultant Pediatrician and Head of Neonatal services in the Ministry of Health and was responsible for the development of the neonatal services in Oman.  He later became the Head of Child Health and was extensively involved in developing all child health programs.  He was made the Deputy DG of the Royal Hospital in Muscat, involved in the administration of the hospital.   Within the Ministry of Health, Dr Saleh was elected to chair many national committees and participated extensively in the organization and improvement of the health services in the country.  Dr Saleh has actively contributed in postgraduate and undergraduate teaching and training.  In September 2004, Dr Saleh was seconded by the Ministry of Health and appointed to join the Oman Medical College as Dean.   Dr Saleh has been an examiner of both national and international Boards of Examinations.  He is currently Chief Organizer and Examiner of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health (UK).  He has received a number of International Awards, including the Charles C. Shepard Science Award (CDC 2002) and was honored in 2004 by the World Health Organization.  In 2006, he was appointed as a member of the Oman Research Council (Health and Social Services) and also appointed as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Oman Medical Specialty Board.
