Dr Ahmed Al Ghassani
 

Dr Ahmed has published more than twenty papers in internationally refereed journals and conference proceedings. He is also member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and Oman Society of Engineers (OSE).Dr Ahmed Al Ghassani obtained a BEng Degree in Civil Engineering from Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) in 1993. He worked with Dhofar Municipality as Civil Engineer then Quantity Surveyor for a few years during which he was involved in several prestigious projects. In 1997 he took up the post as an Assistant Lecturer in Salalah College of Technology. This was followed by a postgraduate program leading to an MSc in Structural Engineering at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) in UK (1998-1999). He joined Loughborough University (UK) to do his PhD on Improving the Structural Design Process using Knowledge Management in June 2000, after receiving a scholarship funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC, UK)). He was awarded a PhD degree in May 2003 and later in 2004, he worked as Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs in Al Musana College of Technology. From 2005-2010, he was the Dean of Nizwa College of Technology and until 2013 was the Dean of the Higher College of Technology in Muscat.  Since May 2013, Dr Ahmed has been the Dean of the College of Banking and Financial Studies.


 
Prof. Iman Al Saaid Ghalal
 
Professor Iman Galal obtained her PhD in Arabic in 1996 from the Faculty of Al Alsun, Aim Shams University in Egypt and has been a Professor of Arabic linguistics since 2008.  Her academic interests include intra-studies between Arabic language and the Media, represented in Political and Media Discourse Analysis; Media Stylistics; Textual Studies and Lexical and Semantic Studies. She has a total of 27 publications including books, translations and editing. Academic domains include linguistic and literary studies and orientalism.  She has supervised more than 20 MA and PhD theses in Arabic language, at Ain Shams University as well as other universities and has been a Panel member of 15 vivas in different universities in Egypt.  Her academic activities in Egypt include: working on the Strategic Plan of the Faculty of Al-Alsun; Course Specification of the Arabic Dept; Post-grad bylaw of Al-Alsun based on credit-hour system (upon ratification).  She has also worked as an external reviewer of the Arabic Language curricula at Al-Imam Mohammad Ibn Sa`oud Islamic University, Riyadh, KSA in 2010.

 
General Mahmoud Talha
 
Major General Mahmoud Talha graduated from Egyptian Military Academy with BSc in 1965 and served in Special Forces and Infantry Corps from 1965 - 2000.  He was Commander of a platoon up to Mechanized Infantry Division.  Major General Mahmoud has served in different staff posts at  many  levels : Brigade, Division, Field Army and Ministry of Defense.  He has also served as an instructor in different military institutes including NASR Higher Academy as Assistant Professor of Operational Art; and in the Command and Staff college as an instructor and then as the Commandant of the college in 1997.  He has earned MSc in Military Science from Egyptian Command and Staff College; Fronze Military Academic, Moscow and Command Academy, Germany.  He has also earned Fellowship from the Egyptian Higher War College and USA Army War College.  He has attended many military courses and earned a BSc in commerce from Ain Shams University in Cairo.  He has served as Chief of military observers of UN mission in Liberia and participated in developing many Reference books, Military books, seminars and workshops.In the civilian sector, heserved as first Undersecretary of Tourism Ministry (after retirement), and advisor for Red Sea governor.  From 2004 to the present, he has been an advisor for the chief of the Military Training Authority and for the Commandant of Command and Staff College in Egypt, where he is also a Visiting Faculty member. 
 
Prof Mohammed Badr Eldin Aboul Ela
 

Dr. Aboul-Ela earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Agriculture from Cairo University, and his Ph.D. in Animal Physiology from the University of Aberdeen, UK, in 1980. His university career started as Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, Mansoura University, Egypt, and was promoted as Professor in 1987. He held several academic administrative positions at Mansoura University and UAE University, among which being a Chair, Director of Graduate Studies, Director of Faculty Recruitment & Development, and Dean. As a researcher, he published a total of 93 articles in refereed journals, and five chapters in reference books. He won several research prizes and awards including National Prize for Research in Agricultural Sciences, Egypt, 1978; Abdel-Hamid Showman`s Prize, 1988; and Presidential Distinction Medal, for Excellence in Research, 1994. He was one of the founding members of the Commission for Academic Accreditation, in the UAE when established in 2000, and was appointed as its Director in February 2007. He had a leading role in developing its Standards for Licensure and Accreditation, and the e-Learning Standards for Licensure and Accreditation. Dr. Aboul-Ela had significant and leading role in establishing the Arab Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ANQAHE), and has been re-elected as its Vice-President. In April 2011, Dr Aboul-Ela was elected as a Board Director for the International Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (INQAAHE). Dr.Aboul-Ela participated in numerous institutional and program accreditation review teams in the UAE. He also Chaired and participated in Institutional reviewing teams in Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain. He has been invited as keynote speaker on quality assurance issues at many regional and international conferences and workshops.
