Ms. Annie Lajinian Magarian
 
Annie holds the position of University Registrar at the Lebanese American University (LAU), Lebanon.  She leads and oversees the academic services of two campuses with over 8500 students and serves on the university Accreditation Committee. Previous positions include : Lecturer and Director of the Foundation Programme at Dhofar University, Oman, Principal of the AGBU-Melkonian Educational Institute, Cyprus, Lecturer and teacher trainer at LAU, and consultant for the education/management sector. She holds BA in Business Administration/Political Science from Haigazian University, TEFL Diploma from LAU, and MA in Education from American University of Beirut.  Pursued Doctorate degree courses in Educational Leadership at University of Leicester, UK.  Also has several professional qualifications in education and leadership. Her career spans over 30 years, holding senior leadership positions in educational institutions in the last 2 decades.  She is a Lecturer of English, Communication and Education; has participated in training seminars, workshops and conferences in Education, English Language, Communication, Management & Leadership, and Quality Assurance & Management in several countries. Has served as consultant in government agencies and NGOs. Since 2007 she has been engaged in the enhancement of Quality Assurance in the higher education sector:  Served in the Oman Higher Education Sector serving as Chairperson and member of the Oman Quality Network in Higher Education (OQNHE) and as an External Reviewer for the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority.She is a member of several professional and non-profit organisations and the recipient of a prestigious medal for her valued contributions in the field of education and community services.
 
Dr. Jan Cameron
 

Dr. Jan Cameron is a Director of the Academic Quality Agency for New Zealand Universities (AQA). She is on the New Zealand Register of Auditors and Reviewers and has also attended training of Australian auditors by AUQA. As Director of AQA her role is to manage institutional audits, promote quality assurance in the sector and facilitate quality enhancement. AQA has just commenced its fifth cycle of academic audits across all NewZealand universities.Dr. Cameron has a BSc in Zoology from the University of Canterbury and an MSocSc and DPhil in Sociology from the University of Waikato (New Zealand). She was previously Dean of Arts and Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand. In the AVC(A) role she held management responsibility, at different times, for all services related to student support, as well as the University Centre for Teaching and Learning and the Academic Quality Assurance Unit. Dr. Cameron managed two internal self-reviews for institutional audit. For over ten years she was a member of the NZ Committee on University Academic Programmes which peer reviews and approves all university programmes. Through this committee she has also been involved in deliberations on university admission standards and secondary-tertiary curriculum pathways. Dr .Cameron has audited institutions in Oman, Fiji, Hong Kong and Taipei. She is a Board member of the Asia Pacific Quality Network and was convenor of its project to determine criteria for establishing mutual recognition of quality assurance agencies.

 
Dr Maha Merghani Kobeil
 
Dr. Maha Kobeil, Dean, Majan College (University College), Muscat, earned her Ph.D. from the University of Manchester in Applied Linguistics and an MA from the University of Liverpool, UK. Her extensive experience in the areas of higher education, teaching, curriculum evaluation, planning and development, and institutional and programme quality assurance standards has spanned more than eighteen years.  She has expertise in the fields of English Language, Applied Linguistics, Quality Assurance, Teacher Education, and Student Counselling. She has supervised dissertations at Masters Level in Khartoum University and Al Neelain University in Sudan as well as undergraduate projects in Ahfad University and Majan College. Dr. Kobeil has been involved in the preparation of documentation for programme validations, institutional reviews and strategic planning. She also plays an active role in ensuring that quality assurance standards are adhered to. She has chaired and actively participated in Examination Boards in the Business and IT Faculties in Majan as well as being an external examiner for programmes in other institutions. She was instrumental in the preparation and implementation of the BA (Hons) in English Language and the validation of the Majan’s new Foundation Programme in 2003. Dr. Kobeil has contributed to the development of the English Language courses for the Colleges of Applied Sciences with the Ministry of Higher Education. She was a member of the working group for establishing the National Standards for General Foundation Programmes in Oman. Her research interests are in the areas of reading comprehension, information processing, critical thinking skills, and student learning styles.
 
Prof. Malcolm Cook
 
Malcolm Cook is Emeritus Professor of French at the University of Exeter, UK. He has been an auditor for the UK Quality Assurance Agency and has worked as an international expert for a number of agencies in Europe: France, Ireland, Romania, Lithuania and Switzerland. Until recently he worked as a specialist evaluator working for the European University Association Institutional Evaluation Programme and served on the steering committee of the programme. He has taken part in evaluations in Italy, Spain and Morocco and the Ukraine.  He has also worked for the Irish Higher Education Authority as a specialist advisor on research funding and is currently working for the Irish Board that awards postgraduate grants in the humanities and social sciences. Professor Cook also acted as an external advisor for Heythrop College, University of London, UK and has in the past undertaken a review of teaching in the School of Advanced Study in London. He is a fluent French speaker. A former Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Exeter with responsibility for Quality Assurance, Learning and Teaching and European Affairs, he is the former  Chair of the Modern Humanities Research Association, a charitable body whose mission is to promote research in the modern humanities and to publish books and journals in modern languages. He is Director of the team that is preparing the electronic edition of the Bernardin de Saint-Pierre Correspondence. He has published widely on the French eighteenth century. He took early retirement from the University in September 2008 in order to act as a consultant on quality assurance and to lead the Bernardin project until its completion.  In 1998 he was made a Chevalier dans l`Ordre des Palmes Academiques by the French government for services to French culture.  He has now been promoted to the rank of Officer.
