Mr. Gary Thomas O`Neill
 
Originally from Leeds, UK, Gary O’Neill graduated from University of Bradford in 1981 with a Bachelors in European Literature and the History of Ideas. He then began a career in English teaching, working in Italy and the UK before a spell in Bandung Indonesia at the British Institute.  He then moved to Japan, where he taught at ANA Stanton School and completed his DTEFLA qualification, before heading back to The British Institute Bandung where he worked as Director of Studies and Principal for 6 years. While in Bandung, he began work on his Masters degree in Applied Linguistics (Macquarie University), which he completed in Hamilton, New Zealand, in 1998.  In Hamilton, Gary worked for six months as a teacher in the Intensive English Program at University of Waikato, before taking on the job of Program Coordinator, and then Academic Manager.  In 2002, Gary accepted a job offer at Zayed University in Dubai, and taught for four years in the Academic Bridge Program, preparing students for entry into degree programs. He was then invited to transfer to the Baccalaureate program, where he was Acting Head of the University Language Center before its transformation into the Department of Languages, University College. He is currently Chair of the Department of Languages in Dubai. While at ZU, Gary has been involved in the University’s accreditation process, and has contributed to the Institutional Assessment initiative.  He is an active classroom teacher, and particularly enjoys teaching academic writing. He is also currently undertaking research into Second Language Literacy among Emirati students at the University. Gary is married with two adult children.

 
Prof. Joelle Fanghanel
 
Joëlle Fanghanel is Professor of Higher Education and Director of the Institute for Teaching, Innovation and Learning at the University of West London. She has been leading academic development centres for over 10 years, at the University of Leicester between 2001 and 2003, at City University London between 2003 and 2009, and now at the University of West London. Her research is focused on academic identities and disciplinary cultures; academic work; and education for a globalised world. She has held leading positions in national and international organisations including as Convenor of the London SoTL International Conference and Chair of the editorial board for the London Scholarship of Teaching and Learning International Conference. She is a former Vice President (Europe) of the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (ISSOTL), and a current re-elected Member and Trustee of the SRHE Governing Council. She is also a member of SRHE Publications Committee, and Co-Convenor of the Academic Practice Network. She was selected as National Teaching Fellow in 2011. She is an active reviewer for Studies in Higher Education, Higher Education Quarterly, Teaching in Higher Education and Perspectives in Education, and co-editor of the London Scholarship of Teaching and Learning International Conference Proceedings.   Recent publications include a chapter on teaching excellence, a chapter on socio-cultural approaches to teaching, learning and assessment, a chapter on departmental leadership and publications on professional development, disciplinary identities, and local interpretations of policy. A monograph on conceptions of teaching and learning based on her PhD was published in 2009. Her recent book Being an Academic examines the impact of higher education policies on academic practices (Routledge, 2012). 

 
Dr. P. Mani Joseph
 
Joseph Mani is Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS), Oman. Prior to joining MCBS in 2004, he had served as the Dean of Faculty of Computer Science & Engineering at Sharjah College, UAE. Joseph received his Ph.D degree from Cochin University of Science and Technology, India in the field of Information communication Technology. He is an ABET IDEAL(Institute for the Development of Excellence in Assessment Leadership) scholar and an approved ABET Evaluator for IT programs (Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC). He is also a Certified EFQM Internal Assessor -Institute for Total Quality Management (ITQM). Joseph is an active member of various professional societies including IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Association), ISACA (Information System Audit and Control Association, New York),ACM ( Association for computing Machinery and Oman Quality Network in Higher Education (OQNHE). He was also involved in organizing various International Conferences (Academic Committee Chair of OQNHE 3rd conference 2015, Organizing Committee Member of IEEE GCC Conference 2015, Academic Committee Chair of OQNHE 4th conference 2017 and Conference Chair of ISACA regional Conference 2017). He is actively involved in the development of International undergraduate and associate degree Information Technology (IT) curriculum as a member of both ACM International IT Curriculum Committee and ACM International IT Education Committee during 2005-09.
 
Mr. Timothy Chow
 
Timothy KC Chow is the Director of Institutional Research at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.  He received his B.S., M.B.A., and Ph.D. from Indiana State University.  His doctoral research area is in Technology Management and specializing in Quality Systems.  He is actively involved with the Indiana Association for Institutional Research (INAIR), the Overseas Chinese Association for Institutional Research (OCAIR), and the Association for Institutional Research (AIR).  Chow is a Past President of INAIR and currently serves as the Chairperson for OCAIR.  He has been elected and served as a member of the Board of Directors and Nominations and Elections Committee for AIR.  Furthermore, he is a reviewer for the Peer Corps of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) to offer support for its accrediting activities.  Chow has been involved in student outcomes assessment since the inception of the RosE-Portfolio System (REPS) project in the mid-1990s at Rose-Hulman.  Furthermore, he has participated in both institutional and engineering program accreditations and is serving as a member of the Quality of Education Committee at Rose-Hulman.  He taught Management Information Systems courses as a graduate assistant in the MBA program and Computer and Information Systems courses as an adjunct faculty.  In addition, Chow has conducted workshops and presented his work at Institutional Research and other Higher Education conferences.  He has served as a faculty member with the AIR`s Information Technology Institutes.  He has also offered consultations on topics related to student outcomes assessment and institutional research for colleges and universities in the U.S. and abroad.
