Dr Huda Abu Hamdeh
 

Dr Huda is the Associate Dean of Oman College of Health Sciences (OCHS) – Nursing Program. Before that she was the associate Dean of OCHS North Sharqiyah Branch and was the Dean of Ibra nursing Institute during. Before joining Ibra Nursing Institute in 1994, she worked as the Dean of the Institute of Specialized Nursing Studies and the Executive Director of Primary Health Care Nursing Development Project (Jordan) from 1988 to 1994. She started her career as a nursing tutor at the Jordan College of Nursing in 1976, She received her PhD in Educational Administration in 2000. She also has to her credit an MPH degree in 1988. As the Associate Dean of the Nursing Program at OCHS, Dr. Huda has been providing administrative and academic leadership, and she has been responsible for planning, implementation and evaluation of the program. She is a member of the first five-year OCHS Strategic Plan (2021- 2025) Committee. She served as the Academic Director for the Health Academic management System project (HAMS) from Sept 2015 -Sept 2019. She is a member of the Curriculum Evaluation Committee of the nursing program in the MoH.  She is involved in evaluating the nursing program and restructuring processes. She served in the Central Examination Committee of the nursing institutes for about 12 years in addition to being a member of many other national and regional committees. She served the faculty of Nursing at Sultan Qaboos University as an external examiner from 2008 to 2015. Dr. Huda participated in three institutional audit panels, two Institutional Standards assessment and two as a Review Director with OAAA besides being a member of the review team of the nursing programs offered by private higher education institutions in Oman. She also chaired and participated in the program reviewing teams (nursing) in Bahrain. Dr.Huda is a member of the MoH Research and Ethical Review and Approve Committee. She served as a facilitator of research training programs for Medical Doctors organized by the Oman Medical Specialty Board in 2014 and 2015. She organized research-training programs for health care professionals in the North Sharqiyah governorate. She served as a member of the editorial committee and a manuscript reviewer of the DGET nursing periodical “Nursing Education Oman from 2003 to 2008. Dr. Huda’s specific areas of research are Nursing Education, Curriculum Design & Evaluation, and Nursing Informatics.

Dr. John B. Lee
 
John B. Lee is president of JBL Associates, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in postsecondary education policy research and located in Bethesda, MD.  His career includes work at the local, state and national level.  Dr. Lee has published dozens of reports on different aspects of postsecondary education policy and finance.  The report topics have included financial aid, affordability of college and student access and persistence, for clients including the National Center for Education Statistics and the Office of Student Financial Aid in the U.S. Department of Education, the National Education Association, and the Lumina Foundation.  Currently Dr. Lee is involved in two national projects to improve student graduation rates.    Before founding JBL Associates in 1985, he worked for the Education and Labor Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Education Commission of the States, and Stanford Research International.  He earned a BA and MA from California State University at Sacramento, and received an Ed.D. in postsecondary education from the University of California, Berkeley. 
 
Prof. Peter Brooks
 
Professor Peter Brooks is currently Director AHWI of School of Population Health, University of Melbourne. He was Executive Dean of Health Sciences at the University of Queensland. He has held previous posts as Professor of Medicine at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney (University of New South Wales) and was the Foundation Professor of Rheumatology at the Royal North Shore Hospital and the University of Sydney.   He completed his medical training at Monash University in Melbourne and then studied rheumatology under Professor Watson Buchanan in Glasgow.  Professor Brooks is a rheumatologist with a major research interest in the treatment and epidemiology of rheumatic diseases. He is a recognised international expert in this area. He has a major interest in medical research, in particular, the linking of basic and clinical research and in internationalisation and the development of postgraduate training. More recently he has developed an interest in health workforce and inter-professional learning. He has recently established the Australian Health Workforce Institute, a joint initiative of The University of Queensland and The University of Melbourne, of which he is Interim Director. He has published widely in the treatment and outcomes in arthritis and in psychological aspects of rheumatic diseases and on medical education and health workforce.   Professor Brooks sits on a number of Boards including: Queensland Institute for Medical Research, Mater Medical Research Institute, Board of CONROD, EnTox, International Steering Committee Bone and Joint Decade 2000-2010, Epworth Hospital Board, Gallipoli Foundation, Executive Committee OMERACT (Outcome Measures in Arthritis Clinical Trials).
