Dr Bader Ahmed Abuid
 
Bader Ahmed Abuid is a Mechanical Engineer with Ph. D in vibration from the Technical University, Sofia-Bulgaria in 1992, M.Sc. in Machine Design from Baghdad University in 1982, and B. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Basrah University in 1979. He started work as assistant lecturer in the Technical Military College/ Baghdad for one year (1982-1983), then in the same post at the Mechanical Department/ University of Basrah for 4 years (1983-1987), and as a Ph. D. lecturer in the same department for 7 years (1992-1999). In 2000, he joined Nizwa College of Technology (NCT) as a lecturer in the Engineering Department, after which appointed as Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs in 2004, and became as an Acting Dean for NCT in 2010. From Sept. 2010 to March 2011, he was transferred as Acting Dean to Ibri College of Technology (IbriCT). Later, he was appointed from March 2011 to Aug. 2020 as an Engineering Expert in the General Directorate of Technological Education (GDTE)/ Ministry of Manpower (now Ministry of Labor), and continued till date in the same post at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS). During his tenure, he was engaged in a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate academic disciplines related to teaching Applied Mechanics engineering courses, labs, and workshops. He taught several postgraduate, M.Sc and Ph.D courses, and supervised several M.Sc. students. He worked as a consultant of vibration problems & fault diagnosis in Basrah south industry of Petrochemicals, Oil Refinery, Power Stations of Al-Najibia and Al-Hartha. He was engaged in Quality Assurance work at NCT and IbriCT heading the QA Steering Committee of self-assessment during the preparation of the colleges for 1st stage institutional accreditation by OAAA. He participated in the revision and development of several Policies and Procedures (for both colleges) related to Management, Teaching & Learning, Staff, and Student Affairs. He is now an OAAA External Reviewer since 2010, and joined OAAA audits for some HEIs institutional, institutional standard, and pilot program standard accreditation. As an Engineering Expert, he was engaged in several activities related to the revision and development of Programs/Courses, Bylaws, Strategic Plans of GDTE and CoTs, Policies and Procedures, writing of annual Technological Education reports, revision of CoTs’ ISAA reports, and others. B. A. Abuid published more than fifteen papers in prestigious journals & conferences (ASME, JSME, IFToMM). He is also a reviewer for the CAD Journal @ Elsevier.
 
Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al-Mahrooqi
 

Dr. Rahma Al-Mahrooqi is Deputy VIce-Chancellor for Postgraduate Studies and Research at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU).  She was formerly Assistant Professor working in the English Department of the College of Arts and Social Sciences, SQU.  She has a BA in English Education, an MA in English Curriculum and Teaching Methods and a Ph.D in English and Communications Education.   Her research interests focus on sociolinguistic issues, English Language teaching, reading, literature, communication, intercultural and cross-cultural communication and the influence of culture on reading and communication.

 
Dr. Wafa Abdulrahman Al Mansoori
 
Dr Wafa Abdulrahman Al Mansoori currently occupies the post of Director of Institutional Research and Assessment at the American University of Bahrain, where she is responsible for developing and leading the implementation of institutional research and assessment program to support the university’s mission and strategic initiatives. She received her BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bahrain, her MSc degree in Microelectronic Systems and Communications from the University of Liverpool, UK, and her PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University, USA. In 2007, Dr Almansoori joined Bahrain’s Education Reform Project where she has assisted in the development of the Higher Education Quality Review System and participated in the pilot implementation of the System.  From 2008 to 2020 she occupied different positions at Bahrain’s Education & Training Quality Authority. These included the Director of the Directorate of Higher Education Reviews, Director of the Directorate of Vocational Reviews, Chair of the Academic Committee. Prior to that, she was a faculty member of the Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department at the University of Bahrain. Dr. Almansoori was appointed as a member of the Council for Regulating the Practice of Engineering Professions from 2013 to 2016 and as the Vice Chairman of the Council from 2016-2019. She is a member of the Bahrain Society of Engineers. Dr Al Mansoori is the recipient of the “Anita Borg Change Agent Award” in 2007.
