Dr Hamdan Sulaiman Al Fazari
 
Dr. Hamdan Al Fazari is an Associate Professor who holds MBA Degree in Aerospace Management from Toulouse Business School in France, and a PhD from National Institute for Applied Sciences (INSA) – Toulouse, France. He joined Sohar University in 2013 and was appointed as Pro-Vice Chancellor (Resources), and was subsequently promoted to Deputy Vice Chancellor (Resources) in 2018. Dr. Hamdan was formerly a career officer in the Engineering branch of the Royal Air Force of Oman where he was acknowledged for his distinguished record of experience in engineering, management and academic leadership. He has an established record of experience in engineering, academia, business and leadership. In addition, he has wide experience in education and academic leadership ranging from Head of Department of Further Engineering Training, to Assistant Principal of the Air Force Technical College and Assistant Academic Advisor in the establishment of the Military Technological College. He has held many senior management posts in the field of personnel and administrative services, training, education, personnel development, coordination and planning, quality assurance, and in management and development. Dr. Hamdan is registered in the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA) as an external reviewer and he is a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS).
 
Dr Susan Trevor-Roper
 
Susan Trevor-Roper is a higher education professional with particular expertise in internal and external quality assurance, transnational higher education, and teaching in higher education. Susan has a deep understanding of Oman’s higher education context that is underpinned by her research and her long term work experience in Oman, inclusive of a recent position as a Senior Quality Assurance Expert at the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA). During her eleven-year term at the OAAA, Susan played a key role in the development of the OAAA’s accreditation standards, criteria and processes, contributed to its research and undertook the role of Review Director for over twenty institutional reviews. Susan has also held senior institutional positions in Oman, including Head of Standards and Quality, and Assistant Dean, with oversight of provision leading to UK HE awards and provision of US and UK professional-body-accredited vocational courses. Susan has been a regular participant in International Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (INQAAHE) conferences and undertaken consultancy work for the University of Reading. Susan holds a PhD in Educational Research (Lancaster University, UK), a Master’s Degree (with Distinction) in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (University of Reading, UK) and a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from Imperial College (London) that was followed by two years PhD research at St George’s Hospital Medical School (London). Susan’s current research interest is in the area of internationalisation of higher education with specific focus on transnational higher education provided through local delivery partnerships and institutional support for international academic teachers.
 
Prof Yusra Mouzughi
 
Professor Yusra Mouzughi assumed the role of President of Royal University for Women in May 2021 with clear plans to take the institution to its next level of growth and development.  Professor Mouzughi is a highly motivated and innovative academic leader with over 20 years’ experience in the Higher Education sector and over 5 years industry experience in large blue- chip organisations.  She has a proven track record of delivering to strategic objectives and a passion for providing a quality educational offering that is relevant to the workplace. She is a committed individual with a unique understanding of both Western and Arab cultures and an ability to motivate staff and students incorporating a deep understanding of the links between industry and academia, coupled with a natural personal presence and an articulate approach to negotiation. Educated in the UK, Professor Mouzughi has a Bachelors in Business Administration from Richmond College London, an MBA from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh and a PhD in Knowledge Management from Liverpool John Moores University, where she continues to act as a Visiting Professor.  She built her academic career in the UK where she worked for more than 14 years developing expertise in education management with a particular focus on Doctoral programmes.  She has established a cross disciplinary research profile spanning knowledge sharing and the sustainability agenda.  Professor Mouzughi has supervised many Doctoral and Masters theses in the broad management area, has numerous publications in the field and is an invited keynote speaker at many international conferences. A Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Professor Mouzughi is a member of multiple international Boards and committees dedicated to advancing learning, teaching and research in higher education.  These include the UK Quality Assurance Agency, (QAA), the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) and the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA).  Further, she is on the editorial board and a reviewer for several academic journals. Before taking up the role as President of the Royal University for Women, Professor Mouzughi was the Vice Chancellor and acting Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs at Muscat University for over 5 years.  Notably, she was also the first female head of a University in Oman. Under her leadership, Muscat University grew in staff and student numbers, delivering the first cohorts of graduates, attracting research funding, strong industry collaborations and distinguished international academic partnerships. Prior to joining academia, Professor Mouzughi worked as a project manager in the financial services sector in the UK.
