Dr. Anne Martin
 

Anne Martin has had wide international experience in senior level positions the higher education sector, managing portfolios covering the development and delivery of university programs and policies, academic and institutional planning, organizational development and academic quality assurance. Her senior appointments include Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic) at Deakin University in Australia; University Dean for Academic Planning and Programs and interim Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs in the City University of New York System; Foundation Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of South Australia; and Head of the School of General Education at the South Australian Institute of Technology. Dr. Martin’s international consultancy service provides expert support to the higher education sector, including universities, private colleges, professional associations and government agencies in Australia, Asia and the Pacific and Gulf regions. She has advised governments in three countries on the development and implementation of institutional and government regulatory standards for higher education and has served on numerous institutional and government boards. Her involvement in quality and accreditation reviews is ongoing. She has served as a panel member and chair for the national accreditation authorities in Australia, Hong Kong, Ireland, New Zealand, Oman, Papua New Guinea and Saudi Arabia. To date, she has conducted over 40 institutional reviews and many dozen program accreditations. In 2010, she received the Australian Higher Education Quality Award in recognition of her services to the higher education sector.


 
Prof. Clive Neal-Sturgess
 
Clive Neal-Sturgess was educated at King Edward VI School Nuneaton, was a Student Apprentice, graduated with a 1st Class Honours’ Degree from Lanchester College Coventry, and took his PhD in the Forming of Tool Steels at the University of Birmingham.  He held the Jaguar Chair of Automotive Engineering 1988-2004, and was formerly Head of Mechanical Engineering at Birmingham.  He has served in numerous bodies within the University of Birmingham, spent 17 years as a member of Senate, and has been a member of Court since 1988.  In 2006 he was honoured by being elected a University Foundation Fellow.He spent the majority of his academic career researching Continuum Damage Mechanics, Finite Element Methods, and the injuries to car occupants and pedestrians in crashes.  He is co-author of three books and over 150 research publications, and a member of the Editorial Boards of three Journals. He is a member of the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety, and the European Transport Safety Council. He has been an external examiner at various universities for 20 years including the Universities of Mauritius, Malaysia, and the Caledonian College of Engineering Oman. He has been a quality assurance assessor since 1996, and in 2008 was appointed as a subject reviewer for the UN Development Project at Arab Universities, reviewing Damascus and Helwan Universities in 2008.  He has served as an accreditor for both the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Engineering Accreditation Board in the UK since 1992.  He was Chairman of the Panel which reviewed the Engineering Councils (UK) examinations in 2007.  He has been a reviewer for the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, the Australian and Canadian National Research Councils, and is an assessor for the National Teaching Fellowships Scheme of the Higher Education Academy.  He has been a member of the Engineering Professors’ Council for 12 years, and is currently Chairman of the International Working Group. 
 
Dr. Lejla Vrazalic
 
Dr. Lejla Vrazalic is a higher education consultant based at the Dubai Knowledge Park since 2014, and works exclusively with regulatory and accreditation agencies in Oman, the UAE and Bahrain as a QA assessor. ). Dr Vrazalic has more than twenty years of experience in the higher education sector, having held various positions and taught in Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia and the UAE. She was the Campus Programme Co-ordinator for Business and IT programmes at Middlesex University in Dubai from 2008 to 2014. Prior to this, she held the position of Chair of the College of Business at the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UAE).  In 2006, Dr Vrazalic was awarded a Citation for educational leadership by the former Carrick Institute for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education in Australia. Dr Vrazalic has also been responsible for establishing an integrated university-wide program for educational development of students and teachers. She has chaired and presented at a number of educational conferences and workshops in the areas of teaching and learning. In 2004, Dr Vrazalic was awarded the Australian Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Business Community Partnerships. The same year, Dr. Vrazalic was recognised with the overall Vice Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to Teaching and Learning at the University of Wollongong in Australia In addition to her roles in quality assurance and educational leadership, Dr. Vrazalic was a Research Chair for two years, and an international assessor for the Australian Research Council (ARC). 
 
Dr Nasser Al Mawali
 
Dr Nasser Al-Mawali is an Assistant Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics and Finance, Sultan Qaboos University.  He obtained his undergraduate degree in Economics from Sultan Qaboos University, his Masters degree from Vanderbilt University, USA, and his Doctorate degree in International Economics from the University of Canberra, Australia.     Dr Al-Mawali is serving as Head of the Academic Group at the Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Co-operation.  He is also a board member of the Oman Economic Association.  Dr. Al-Mawali is one of the founders of the Oman Economic Association and has a professional affiliation with the American Economic Association.     His area of research is mainly concentrated on studying determinants of trade flows, economics of intellectual property rights and economic growth.  He has published several refereed articles and presented many research papers at numerous national and international conferences. Dr. Al-Mawali has served as a referee for several scientific journals and symposiums.     Dr Al-Mawali has received a number of recognition awards such as best paper award in the IBER conference in USA, best student award for academic achievements from Vanderbilt University and several academic achievement awards from Sultan Qaboos University. He has also received awards for his social activities from the University of Canberra, Australia.
 
Dr. P. Mani Joseph
 
Joseph Mani is Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS), Oman. Prior to joining MCBS in 2004, he had served as the Dean of Faculty of Computer Science & Engineering at Sharjah College, UAE. Joseph received his Ph.D degree from Cochin University of Science and Technology, India in the field of Information communication Technology. He is an ABET IDEAL(Institute for the Development of Excellence in Assessment Leadership) scholar and an approved ABET Evaluator for IT programs (Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC). He is also a Certified EFQM Internal Assessor -Institute for Total Quality Management (ITQM). Joseph is an active member of various professional societies including IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Association), ISACA (Information System Audit and Control Association, New York),ACM ( Association for computing Machinery and Oman Quality Network in Higher Education (OQNHE). He was also involved in organizing various International Conferences (Academic Committee Chair of OQNHE 3rd conference 2015, Organizing Committee Member of IEEE GCC Conference 2015, Academic Committee Chair of OQNHE 4th conference 2017 and Conference Chair of ISACA regional Conference 2017). He is actively involved in the development of International undergraduate and associate degree Information Technology (IT) curriculum as a member of both ACM International IT Curriculum Committee and ACM International IT Education Committee during 2005-09.
