Dr Ahmed Hamed Al Rahbi
 
I am an Assistant Professor at Univesity of Nizwa (UoN) and the Director of the Foundation Institute (FI). I joined UoN in 2010 and before that I worked from MoE for 22 years. I started at UoN as a Special Program Coordinator during the period 2010-2011, Assistant Director for Quality Assurance 2014-2016 and Foundation Institute Director 2016-present. Before joining University of Nizwa, I worked for Ministry of Education from 1991-2010 as an English teacher, Senior Teacher and Training Specialist. I received my BA from Leeds University (TESOL), my MA from Northern Arizona University (TESL) and Ph.D. from Deusto University (Educational Innovation and Lifelong Learning). My research interests are but not limited to Pragmatics, Teacher Education, Curriculum Design and Intercultural and Cross-cultural Communication. In addition to my administrative duties as the FP director at UoN, I teach in the MA TESOL program in the Department of Foreign Languages at College of Arts and Sciences. I supervise MA thesis and act as a member of thesis and viva panels as an internal and external reviewer. I supervise and mentor students in a joint research project between Ministry of Defense and UoN.
 
Prof. Allan Walker
 
Professor Allan Walker is Dean of the School of Arts Media and Creative Technology at the University of Salford.  Since its formation in 2012, Allan has been responsible for the School’s development as a major provider of high quality graduates for the creative industries. With 4,600 students and 200 full-time academic staff the School’s vision is interdisciplinary, international, interconnected and industry focused. It provides opportunities for students, many of whom are the first in their families to attend University and supports them to achieve excellence. With 19 years of senior leadership in UK Higher Education at Dean and Vice Principal levels, Allan is highly experienced in institutional management including student experience, learning and teaching, research, enterprise, finance, estates, and HR. Allan was Deputy Director of the Glasgow School of Art and Vice Principal of Wimbledon School of Art, London. In 2018, he was appointed as an international reviewer for the OAAA in Oman and in 2020, as a Visiting Professor at the Central Academy of Arts in China. Allan has contributed to enhancement and assurance at national and international levels and was a member of the Scottish Learning and Teaching Committee and a Trustee for British Council Scotland. He has also been a QAA Academic Reviewer in England and an Enhancement Led Institutional Reviewer in Scotland. Currently, he is a Trustee of Protected, a community interest company dedicated to student welfare. Internationally, he has extensive experience of programme development, validation and review in China, Malaysia, Oman, Singapore and the USA. 

 
Dr Amna Al Abri
 

Dr. Amna Al Abri is the Assistant Director of the Mass Communication Program at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS). Prior to her current position, she was the head of the Mass Communication Department in the College of Applied Sciences in Nizwa. She received her Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Connecticut in2017. Her research focuses on health communication, media effects and social marketing campaigns. Dr. Amna has more than a decade experience in higher education. In addition to teaching and curriculum development and review, she took a leading role in the preparation of both CAS-Nizwa’s Quality Audit Portfolio in 2010-2011 and the Institutional Standards Assessment Application (ISAA) from 2017 to 2019. She is also a member of many professional bodies.


 
Dr. Iain McGee
 
Dr Iain McGee (SFHEA) is a Pre-sessional English Language Teacher at Cardiff University and an External Examiner at the University of Brighton, UK. He completed his PhD from Cardiff University (UK) in 2006, and has published research in leading journals in Applied Linguistics and TESOL. He has taught at Foundation, BA and MA degree levels, and spent 24 years working in the Middle East, before returning to the UK in 2020. He was Head of the Department of Foreign Languages at the University of Nizwa from 2012 to 2016 and Head of the Faculty of English Language Studies at Majan University College, Muscat from 2016 to 2020. 
 
Prof. Mark Hay
 
Dr Mark Hay, drawing on his background in theology and philosophy, has an interest in incorporating insights and lessons on good practice in higher education from his wide-ranging higher education experience in South Africa and internationally. He is attentive to supporting the provision quality higher education through the firm development of graduate attributes, in the context that each university operates effectively and efficiently in ensuring academic standards and assurance of quality within a transformative, socially responsive and social justice context. He has held the post of Executive Director for Quality Assurance at the South African Council on Higher Education (CHE) and before that was an audit director at the Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA). From 2004-2007, he was Institutional Audits Director of the Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC) at the CHE, responsible for the national quality audits of universities and selected large private providers of higher education. He is also a specialist expert in higher education institutional quality audits, chairing international quality audit panels. He has provided strategic support to the Vice-Chancellor of Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria, South Africa. He was previously a ministerial appointee on the Council of Tshwane University of Technology and currently serves as a ministerial appointee and Vice-Chair of Council on the Council of the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa. Mark presently serves as strategic academic advisor to a local investment company and a research university with post-school education interests. 
 
Dr Said Nasser Al-Amrani
 
Dr. Said Al-Amrani is a thriving academic leader and an active researcher. Since joining Sohar University (SU) in 2006, he has held various positions such as a Program Coordinator, Assistant Dean, and Assistant Professor. He significantly contributed to reviewing several academic programs and establishing new ones, such as MA in TESOL. Al-Amrani was elected as the Chairman of SU Staff Labor Union in 2016 to represent staff`s interests and use their collective strength to make SU a better working environment by enhancing equality and fairness. As an entrepreneur, Al-Amrani is the co-founder and the Chair of the Board of Directors of Sohar–IMT Institute (2002-2019).  Al-Amrani obtained his Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education from the University of Edge Hill, UK, 2020; Ph.D. in second language acquisition (SLA) from the University of Queensland (Australia) in 2013; MA in Applied Linguistics from Griffith University (Australia) in 2007; and B. Ed (English major) from SQU in 1998. He also participated in several professional development training, such as leading institutional change and innovation. As a researcher, Al-Amrani has published papers in ISI and Scopus-indexed journals and presented research papers in well-recognized international conferences such as ALAA & ALANZ International Conference 2011 in Australia and RELC International Conferences 2014 and 2016 in Singapore. He carried out several projects on documenting spoken endangered languages in Oman and promoting Omani learners` Willingness to communicate in English. He is a reviewer of an international journal and an external examiner of several MA theses.
