Dr Ahmed Hamed Al Rahbi
 
I am an Assistant Professor at Univesity of Nizwa (UoN) and the Director of the Foundation Institute (FI). I joined UoN in 2010 and before that I worked from MoE for 22 years. I started at UoN as a Special Program Coordinator during the period 2010-2011, Assistant Director for Quality Assurance 2014-2016 and Foundation Institute Director 2016-present. Before joining University of Nizwa, I worked for Ministry of Education from 1991-2010 as an English teacher, Senior Teacher and Training Specialist. I received my BA from Leeds University (TESOL), my MA from Northern Arizona University (TESL) and Ph.D. from Deusto University (Educational Innovation and Lifelong Learning). My research interests are but not limited to Pragmatics, Teacher Education, Curriculum Design and Intercultural and Cross-cultural Communication. In addition to my administrative duties as the FP director at UoN, I teach in the MA TESOL program in the Department of Foreign Languages at College of Arts and Sciences. I supervise MA thesis and act as a member of thesis and viva panels as an internal and external reviewer. I supervise and mentor students in a joint research project between Ministry of Defense and UoN.
 
Prof. Allan Walker
 
Professor Allan Walker is Dean of the School of Arts Media and Creative Technology at the University of Salford.  Since its formation in 2012, Allan has been responsible for the School’s development as a major provider of high quality graduates for the creative industries. With 4,600 students and 200 full-time academic staff the School’s vision is interdisciplinary, international, interconnected and industry focused. It provides opportunities for students, many of whom are the first in their families to attend University and supports them to achieve excellence. With 19 years of senior leadership in UK Higher Education at Dean and Vice Principal levels, Allan is highly experienced in institutional management including student experience, learning and teaching, research, enterprise, finance, estates, and HR. Allan was Deputy Director of the Glasgow School of Art and Vice Principal of Wimbledon School of Art, London. In 2018, he was appointed as an international reviewer for the OAAA in Oman and in 2020, as a Visiting Professor at the Central Academy of Arts in China. Allan has contributed to enhancement and assurance at national and international levels and was a member of the Scottish Learning and Teaching Committee and a Trustee for British Council Scotland. He has also been a QAA Academic Reviewer in England and an Enhancement Led Institutional Reviewer in Scotland. Currently, he is a Trustee of Protected, a community interest company dedicated to student welfare. Internationally, he has extensive experience of programme development, validation and review in China, Malaysia, Oman, Singapore and the USA. 

 
Dr Raida Al-Alawi
 

Raida Al-Alawi received a Ph.D. Degree in Computational Intelligence from Brunel University – London, MSc in Computer Engineering from the University of London, and a BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from Kuwait University. Dr. Raida Al-Alawi is currently working at BFG International as the Director of Technology Development. Before joining BFG, she was the Dean of Student Affairs at Ahlia University - Bahrain. Before joining Ahlia University, she was an associate professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering – University of Bahrain (UOB). Dr. Al-Alawi served in various key strategic, academic, and planning committees at both UOB and Ahlia University. She had also served as the chairperson of the Department of Computer Engineering - UOB. Dr. Al-Alawi is the first Bahraini woman to receive a Ph.D. degree in Engineering. She had received many honors and awards among them are the UOB Certificate of Excellence in Teaching, HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Outstanding Academic Women Pioneers Award, and the GCC Engineering Union Award for Pioneers in Engineering. She is an active member of various international societies such as IEEE, ENNS, ACM, FAE, AETDEW, and Sigma Xi scientific research society. In addition, she is chairing the ICT committee of the Federation of Arab Engineers and a board member of the Bahrain Society of Engineers. Dr. Al-Alawi is a Program Evaluator for the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), Program Reviewer for Bahrain Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA), and an external Program Reviewer for Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA). She had conducted various consultancy projects in the field of Information Technology and is a referee for several International Journals in the area of Electronics and Computer Engineering. She had been involved in the organizing committees and technical committees of many international and national conferences and workshops. Her current research and teaching interests lie in the area of machine learning, neural networks, deep learning, data analytics and optimization techniques, embedded systems, reconfigurable logic, wireless sensor networks, and computational intelligence.
