Ms Alaa Ismat Al Attili
 
Ms Alaa held the position of Head of Quality Assurance Department of Al Zahra College for Women from October, 2010 till February, 2018, but her involvement in quality assurance in higher education started in 2007. During which, she oversaw the development, implementation, and instillation of institutional and academic quality standards at the College. Along with her duties as a Head of Quality Assurance Department, she conducted many seminars and workshops to promote and reinforce quality assurance in the College. She also attended different seminars, symposia, conferences and training in relation to quality assurance. Currently, Ms. Alaa is working in the Centre for Quality Assurance and Enhancement in Gulf College. Ms Alaa has a MSc. in Computer Science and with 17 years of experience in higher education. Her experience includes being a lecturer in different well known Omani higher education institutions along with her experience in Jordan. She developed academic subjects and curriculums in HEIs where she had worked. Moreover, she co-authored papers related to IT and pedagogy in a peer reviewed media. Ms Alaa is also an external reviewer with the Ministry of Higher Education in Oman to evaluate academic programs in the field of IT, a member of the Board of Directors of Oman Association for Quality in Higher Education (OAQHE) and an external reviewer with Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA).
 
Dr Martin Brown
 
Martin is the Director of Business Development at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) with overall responsibility for the strategic development of existing and new mutually beneficial relationships with business, overseas and UK education partners focussed on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). He is also currently Acting Dean of School for Physical Sciences and Computing. From 2013, Martin was the Dean of the International College of Engineering and Management (ICEM) in Oman seconded from UCLan. ICEM is a key strategic partner of UCLan. He had overall responsibility for the College including strategic development, governance and management, financial profitability, engagement with Oman Government Ministries and overseas Embassies. He also led the development of the detailed master plan for the new College campus. Previously Martin was the inaugural Director of the UCLan campus in Burnley leading the design and implementation of the £85 million university campus, leading the identification and development of the campus portfolio, the development of systems and processes to enable seamless operation of university and branch campus, development of relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders across East Lancashire including secondary and tertiary education, government and industry. Prior to this Martin was Head of Department of Computing at UCLan with overall responsibility and accountability for the Department’s strategic development, financial and business planning, performance against institutional KPIs, adherence to financial regulations and corporate governance. He managed a large multi-disciplinary team of staff, developed a national and international partnership of education and industry partners to offer UK based and trans-national education (TNE). 

 
Dr. Nicola Huson
 
Dr. Nicola Huson is currently a researcher and lecturer at the Institute for German Language at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Prior to this Dr. Huson was an Assistant Professor at the University of Nizwa at CAS (Department for Foreign Languages). Previously and for many years she was a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) Lecturer & representative in the Middle-East, i.e. at the German Jordanian University, Amman, Jordan, the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) & the at La Manouba University in Tunisia. Other positions include Head of German; educational consultancy for the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ former GTZ/IS) with the Qatar Supreme Educational Council; PhD programme coordinator at the Bielefeld Graduate School for Economics and Management (BiGSEM), Bielefeld University, coordinating and lecturing in the German language section at the Eastern Mediterranean University in North Cyprus and working as a project manager for staff and organisation development in several EU projects with a German Company (REGE mbH). Dr. Huson holds a PhD and Master Degree in Applied Linguistics (German as a Foreign Language) from Bielefeld University in Germany. She is a member of the International Association of Germanists and has published several papers and attended conferences on Foreign Language Education and Intercultural Competence.
