Dr. Ahmed AlKilabi (PhD, Wales) is a professor of applied linguistics and formerly dean of the Faculty of Languages & Translation, University of Kufa. At present he works at the University of AlKafeel, in AnNajaf AlAshraf, Iraq. Professor AlKilabi served as the Head of English Department at the College of Applied Sciences, Nizwa, Sultanate of Oman for many years. He has taught several courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels as well as translation and interpreting courses in departments of English in Iraq, Jordan and Oman. He has an extensive experience as translator and interpreter. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (FCIL), London and a member of the Canadian Association of Applied Linguistics and the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO), Canada. His research interests include second language acquisition, SLA writing and translation and interpreting.
