Geoffrey Channon is Professor of History and Pro Vice-Chancellor Learning and Teaching and the Student Experience at the University of the West of England in the UK. Between 2002 and 2007 he was the founder Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Languages and Social Science. He has overseen the University’s quality assurance and enhancement policies and practices and represented the University in the development of its international education partnerships. Until recently he was the co-chair of a European network of Deans. He is a member of an international expert panel that advises the Danish Government on the allocation of funding for research. In the UK he has been associated with the UK Quality Assurance Agency and its predecessors for a number of years.   A widely-published business historian, educated at the London School of Economics and University College London, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society in 1993 and of the Royal Society of Arts in 1994.
