Dorte Kristoffersen has worked with quality assurance of education since 1992 and has extensive international experience. She was the Deputy Executive Director of the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) from October 2007 to January 2010 when she followed her family to San Francisco. In July 2010, she became Vice President for Policy and Research of the Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) under the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in the USA.   Dorte worked for the Danish Evaluation Institute  (EVA) from 1992 to 2004 and held the position as Deputy Director and Director of Development from 1999 to 2004.  She was EVA’s representative in a range of quality assurance projects at the European level including projects under the Bologna Process.   From 2004 to 2007 Dorte was an Audit Director with the Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA) and was during her time with AUQA responsible for numerous audits of Australian universities. In addition to the audit responsibilities, Dorte was responsible for AUQA`s training activities, including auditor training, and for the Business Development portfolio.   Dorte has been a member of several European evaluation agency boards and of international evaluation and review panels of institutions as well as quality assurance agencies. She has most recently chaired the external review of the New Zealand Universities Academic Audit Unit (June 2009). Since March 2008 she has been a member of the European Quality Assurance Register Committee.   Dorte has also been active in international quality assurance networks. She was elected onto the INQAAHE Board of Directors in March 2009 a position she also held from 2003 to 2007. She was a member of the Board of the Asia Pacific Quality Network (APQN) from 2005 to January 2010 and in that period she held the positions as Secretary/Treasurer and Vice-President respectively.   Dorte is trained as an assessor in the Business Excellence Model (EFQM).
