Ammar Mohammed Al Ojaili

In 1996 Dr. Ammar obtained a BSc with distinction from Iowa State University in Construction Engineering. He joined the Higher College of Technology the same year as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Engineering. He obtained a MSc in Management and Implementation of Development Projects in 1999 from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (University of Manchester now), UK. Subsequently, Dr. Ammar rejoined the Higher College of Technology and was instrumental in developing curricula for the Colleges of Technology in the Sultanate from 2000 to 2004. In 2007 he obtained a PhD in Civil Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Late in 2007 Dr. Ammar was appointed as the Head of Department of Engineering at the Higher College of Technology. He introduced significant improvements to the department work and played a key role in the quality assurance efforts in the College.  He was a key member of the team involved in developing the Portfolio submitted to Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation (formerly OAC) in December 2008 and in the audit visit that followed in March 2009. In September 2010, Dr. Ammar was assigned as the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs at Salalah College of Technology. He is currently Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Oman Quality Network (OQN). Dr. Ammar’s research interests are construction project management and cost management.
